Colourpop Matte Lip Gloss Tried and Tested

I didn't know exactly what to expect when I bought Colourpop lip products
having never used them in the past.
There are so many beauty gurus who
have used their products, and I wanted to test them out thoroughly myself.

I picked two colours that I wanted to add to my collection.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip In Lumiere 2

This was the first colour I picked to try from Colourpop's Ultra Matte
Lip range. One of the reasons I chose it was because it is
also
recommended as a dupe for Kylie Cosmetics Dolce K liquid lipstick.
This colour took a few minutes to fully dry and become matte without
transferring or smudging. The image above is a bit lighter than the
actual
shade as you can see from my photos below.

Wearing Lumiere 2

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip In Teeny Tiny

A helpful tip on spotting fake Colourpop lip gloss would be the lack of
bright lime green on the inside of the packing (not pictured). There are
so many fakes online I encourage you to do your research like I did to
be able to weed out which ones are not the real thing.

Wearing Teeny Tiny

The second colour I wanted to try is Colourpop's Teeny Tiny. This
was a suggested dupe of
Kylie Cosmetics Dolce K liquid lipstick.
This colour dried fairly quicker than Lumiere 2, not sure exactly why
that would be. This colour is so bold and deep. I was worried it would
be too dark
for me when it arrived but after drying I was happy to pair
it with
cool-toned earthy colours.

Immediately after swatching

24 hours after swatching

I wanted to put this swatch through a 24 hour wear test on my hand
to see how much it faded. As you can see above, even after washing
my hands several times and sleeping with it on it it's staying power is
impressive. The only problem I ran into is when you eat oily foods  it
will remove the lip gloss fairly easily.
All in all these have become my
favourite long-lasting lip glosses.

First time I bought NARS lip gloss #Paris Follies

NARS ( or Narcissist) have always been a brand I was curious about trying.
They are known for their amazing matte lip sticks, bronzers, blushes and
nail polishes. I consider them a mid-to-high brand cosmetics brand. When I
ordered this product Larger than life lip gloss in the shade Paris Follies,
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of both the packaging and product
itself. The applicator tip was a nice surprise in being that it is practically made
for precise application. There is no furry cold wet brush that you would find
on drug store brand lip glosses such as Rimmel and Maybelline.

I love the staying power this lip gloss has, and you can tell right away that it is
high quality lip gloss. I applied it twice today and my lips feel a bit more moisturised
than they usually are (normally dry). It is listed for around $40 AUD full price, but
you can find it on ebay or other sites on sale for between $20-$34AUD. Overall,
a good product and it makes me want to buy heaps of NARS lip products.

My Halloween Haunted House Adventure

Yes, you have read correctly. There was a decent Haunted House Event in Melbourne this year! When I first heard about this a couple months ago I didn't think it would be so huge. If you read my blog you'll also know how unprepared I was in the upcoming weeks before Halloween. I had just relegated myself to wearing some cheap kitty mask and doing my hair maybe in two buns (for ears), but my S.O. offered to pick up a costume for me next to his work.

Here are a few pics throughout the night.

Everything I used on my face/body for tonight's look

If you are interested in the specific items I used please ask in the comments section.

My makeup before I ruin it

My S.O. before he goes into the Haunted House to scare people (Leatherface)

End of the night, blood on my arms, back and hair. Tipsy and exhausted.
If you buy this costume, make sure you have a lighter coloured dress or slip
go underneath. It is VERY sheer, and in this case I just happened to have
an old creme coloured forever new 40's Sweet Heart Dress.

Moving on, the evening came. It was hot, dry, and windy. My hair fell flat, so I gave up after the second attempt to keep reapplying curls. After that, I started vlogging. Here is the result....

Note: May need to turn your volume down for this :)

Matte Lipgloss Swatches

I've been going through different beauty bloggers latest hauls to see what
I should avoid/pick in my next trip when I heard about Savvy. They are a

drugstore brand makeup, that I had not heard of or tried before. I bought
them based on a popular Youtuber's Blog that I adore.

So I decided to combine this with the Matte lip trends going on, and
picked my favorite colours. The choices were limited, given that they
have recently discontinued selling them, and only stores have a limited
supply left in stock. I found they are quite difficult to find online.

Since I have heaps of bright red lip gloss already curtousy of LHI beauty box
I didn't believe it would be a good idea to get the colour 'Miss Monroe',
so I settled on the following....

I was slightly disappointed by how haggard it made the inside of my lips look.

Removal shreds your lips, so I recommend before applying you remove any dry
skin from your lips with a warm wash cloth to prevent this HIGHLY pigmented
colour from sticking to any surface giving you a chunky or 'furry' like appearance.

I was pleased at the suggestion the company makes about using two or more colour'
s to create a whole new colour, so I tried this. Mixing the two colour's together started out looking like a huge mess but came to a cute hot pink colour. Based on using this so far I'm still more of a fan of glossy lipglosses :)
